Job Duties:
1. Provide overnight inpatient care, including admissions, evaluations, and management of acute medical issues, as well as performing comprehensive physical exams for new admissions and documenting findings accurately.
2. Respond promptly to emergencies such as rapid response calls, codes, and unstable patient situations.
3. Manage cross-coverage issues for hospitalized patients, including medication adjustments and symptom control.
4. Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective overnight care.
5. Coordinate care transitions, including handoffs to daytime hospitalist teams with clear communication and documentation.
6. Interpret and act on diagnostic results such as lab data, imaging, and EKGs obtained during night hours.
7. Ensure compliance with hospital policies and quality standards, including documentation, safety, and patient satisfaction goals.
Job RequirementsMinimum
Education Requirements:
Doctor of Medicine degree or closely related. Employer will accept foreign equivalent degree if in the same field.
Experience Requirements:
24 months of experience in job offered, Resident Physician, or closely related.
Special skills requirements:
a. Provide appropriate and effective medical care as required to prevent, diagnose, and treat human disease and injury.
b. Provides guidance to mid-level providers, medical students, residents, fellows, nursing, and allied health staff as needed by providing written resident summary evaluations.
c. Develops and maintains relations with community health care providers to develop and encourage bi-directional patient referrals.
d. Attends to medical records in a timely and appropriate manner to facilitate continuity of care, confidentiality of information, compliance and medical reporting standards, and accurate and timely billing of services.
e. Complies with regulatory and accreditation requirements for patient care, medical records, and billing activities, and works with regulatory and accreditation staff members to ensure compliance.
2. Must have completed a Residency in Internal Medicine.
3. Must be able to obtain a Certification in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal
