Position Summary
Children's Simulation Education Specialist operationalizes simulation services targeted at meeting the strategic goals of the organization. This position assumes broad and specific responsibilities for the development and implementation of instructional, systems integration, assessment and research activities within Children's Simulation Center. The Simulation Education Specialist consults with leaders, educators, and other clinicians to plan, develop, organize and coordinate multidisciplinary simulation curriculum to meet the needs outlined. The Simulation Education Specialist ensures established standards of quality and performance are upheld within the overall goals and activities of Children's simulation program.
The Simulation Education Specialist position will require a high level of independent action and initiative, as well as creative thinking to design and carry out these activities. This position also functions as a team member working with other simulation staff in the implementation and evaluation of simulations within a busy multi-site simulation center. The Simulation Education Specialist will report directly to the program Director and work in collaboration with the program Medical Director. Occasional evening, night and weekend hours required. Occasional overnight travel required.

*BLS required.
*PALS completion within first year of hire.
*Driver's license and driver's record that meets Children's Fleet safety policy requirements.
Education:
*Advanced degree such as Master's or MBBS in one of the following fields: clinical (eg. MSN, MAN, Master's in Nursing Education, or similar), education, instructional design.
*Applicants currently enrolled close to completion of a program within these specifications may also be considered.
Experience:
*Minimum of 2 years of experience in creating and implementing educational activities, activities specifically related to healthcare simulation preferred.
*Minimum of 5 years progressive clinical experience, pediatric and neonatal preferred.
*Background includes experience with simulation and debriefing of health care teams.
*Experience with the research process preferred.
