Intermountain Healthcare in Nevada is looking for an Urgent Care Advanced Practice Provider to join our InstaCare clinic team to serve Clark and Nye Counties. Our InstaCare facilities have on-site labs and radiology, and our providers perform minor procedures, wellness, and physical exams on a walk-in basis for patients of all ages.

 

This position provides coverage on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday each week to care for patients at our InstaCare clinics in Las Vegas and Pahrump. You’ll receive a generous stipend for working weekends and serving the community in Pahrump.

• Manage approximately 30-40 patient encounters per day by providing and managing direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment.
• Performs procedures such as I&D, splinting, suturing, managing infection, and wound care.
• Documenting/Charting patient information in line with current policies and procedures

 

• Clinic: Provide coverage to all InstaCare clinics (Las Vegas and Pahrump)
• Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week: Saturday and Sunday in Pahrump and Wednesday in Las Vegas. Our Pahrump clinic is open 8 am-8 pm; our Las Vegas location is open 7 am-7 pm (work schedule is distributed one month in advance)
• No call

 

• Three years of emergency room experience as an NP or PA
• Unrestricted Nevada NP or PA license
• Current Nevada DEA certificate required prior to start date
• Comfortable managing narcotics
• Must have current BLS, ACLS, PALS and DOT Certification
• Must be comfortable treating patients of all ages

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
