Job Description
Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse Clinician – WOC NC
Position summary
The Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse Clinician (WOC NC) provides leadership in the care of patients with stomas, draining wounds, or incontinence, throughout the organization. This includes utilization of clinical expertise to provide preoperative and postoperative care, counseling, and teaching to patients 0-99 years of age in need of wound, ostomy, and / or continence management. S/he has primary responsibility for educating nurses to ensure knowledge and competency in basic wound, ostomy and continence management; and works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team in a variety of specialties in planning and coordinating the care. The WOCN Nurse Clinician is an integral part of multiple teams, as a clinician, educator, consultant, and leader.
Position requirements
Education: Work requires completion of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina
Certification: Nationally recognized certification in Wound and Ostomy management required, Continence certification preferred
Experience: 3 years nursing experience
Life Support: BLS
Hours
Primary hours will be Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, with rotating coverage of holidays and weekends. Schedule and hours may be changed at discretion of administration based on service needs.
